In Beregovo, they illegally exacted money from student scholarships

Beregovo Inter-district Prosecutor demands to return students the money that were illegally recovered from their scholarships as union dues

Beregovo interdistrict prosecutor Ivan Zareva, in the course of enforcement of minors’ property rights in Beregovo medical college and Beregovo vocational school of services, where 26 orphans and children deprived of parental care study, found out the illegal recovery of union dues from student scholarships.

Thus, 373 students of Beregovo vocational school of services and 261 students of Beregovo Medical College, who, as determined, are union members, never submitted applications to join the primary trade union organization. However, in violation of Article 7 of the Law of Ukraine "On Trade Unions, Their Rights and Guarantees" union dues were illegally levied from students.

         The total amount of wrongly accrued contributions in Beregovo medical college is about 11,600 UAH, and in Beregovo vocational school of services – almost 7,600 UAH. To remedy the above violations of the managements of Beregovo vocational school of services and Beregovo Medical College, the prosecutor made a request for ​​elimination of the violations of the Law of Ukraine "On Protection of Childhood", the Law of Ukraine "On Trade Unions, Their Rights and Guarantees", which is currently pending.
