The driver of a minibus Ford Transit lost control and hit a pedestrian, who was moving along the roadway. The victim, a resident of Beregovo district, died on the spot from the injuries. The police began an investigation over the accident.
Yesterday, May 8, about 23.00, the police received a report from a female driver of a minibus that she had hit a pedestrian on Shevchenko street in the village of Yanoshi.
At the scene of the accident, officers of the investigating team found out that the driver of the vehicle had hit a pedestrian who was moving in the same direction in the middle of the lane. The victim, a 42-year-old resident of the village of Balazher, died on the spot. The police also found out that the car was driven by a 49-year-old resident of the village of Muzhiyevo in Beregovo district.
The driver is suspected of a criminal offense under Part 2 of Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Violation of traffic safety rules that caused the death of the victim). The car was taken to the impound lot of the Beregovo Police Department. The investigation continues, all the circumstances and the cause of the road traffic accident will be estabished.
