Officers of the service to fight against economic crimes conducted an authorized search in one of the buildings in the center of Beregovo. There, the police officers found and seized nearly 1,500 gambling chips, 16 decks of playing cards, a poker table and the money in the amount of 70 USD, 450 EUR, 28,436 UAH and 40,000 HUF.
At the time of the arrival of law enforcement officers, the gambling in the underground casino was in full swing. 9 residents of Uzhgorod district, Vynogradiv, Mukachevo and Beregovo district were playing poker.
The owner and organizer of the underground facility, a 32-year-old resident of Beregovo was also there. He was exchanging chips for money. He was assisted by two guys. One served as the dealer. The other one, which is only 16 years old, was a cashier.
The criminal proceeding over this fact was opened under Art. 203-2, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (gambling), which is punishable by a fine of ten thousand to forty thousand times the tax-free minimum income with confiscation of gambling equipment.
– The circumstances of the offense are being established by the investigation – the chief of Beregovo district police department Lieutenant Colonel Mykola Kurytsya said.
