Today in Beregovo, a joint meeting of the Coordinating Council for Local Government under the Chairman of the Regional Council and the Standing Committee of the Regional Council on Cross-border Cooperation, Tourism and Recreation has started. It is attended by the Chairman of the Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko, the committee chairman Mykhailo Kichkovsky, heads of cities and districts of the region.
They plan to discuss the development of tourism and prospects for cross-border cooperation.
First of all, the meeting participants reviewed the activities of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Institute ofFerenc Rákóczi II. The president of the Institute, deputy of the Regional Council Ildiko Oros spoke briefly about the institution and its future outlook. Currently, more than 1,000 students from all over the region are enrolled in the institute. Future historians, linguists, geographers, mathematicians are trained here. In 1999, research centers were created. Last year, a college was opened in the structure of the institute. They plan to start training tourism industry professionals in the school.
The Transcarpathian Regional Council Chairman Volodymyr Chubirko and the chairman of the Standing Committee of the Regional Council Mykhailo Kichkovsky will report on cross-border cooperation as a priority of the regional development strategy.
Following the meeting, they plan to adopt recommendations in the field of tourism and cross-border cooperation to state and local governments.
