On March 30, at 20:25, the Rescue Service of Transcarpathia received a report of a road accident that had occurred on the Kyiv-Chop highway near the village of Hankovytsya in Svalyava district. The driver of a truck "MAN" moving in the direction of Mukachevo collided with an oncoming car "Mercedes Benz Sprinter", which was moving to the city of Truskavets, Lviv region.
To eliminate the consequences of the accident, a crew of the 9th state fire and rescue unit of Svalyava arrived at the scene. They found out that the driver of the car "Mercedes Benz Sprinter" had died on the spot from the injuries sufferred due to collision. Using hydraulic equipment, rescuers removed the dead body from the twisted vehicle. Nine of his passengers with various kinds of injuries were taken to Svalyava Central District Hospital. The driver of the truck "MAN" did not need medical care.
Law enforcement authorities are establishing detailed circumstances of the accident.
