Train tickets in Ukraine went up by 10%. The rise applies to travels by conventional trains – economy class and compartments. Prices for tickets on electrical trains, two-berth compartments and speed "Intercity+" trains will remain the same. This was announced by the press service of the Ukrainian Railways.
Ticket prices will not rise anymore until the end of the year.
As previously reported, the Ministry of Infrastructure explained that the increase in railway fares will allow to partially reduce losses of passenger transportation services and to use some of the funds to repair cars.
Also, the Ukrainian Railways assured that passengers would hardly be affected by the rise in railway fares after October 1, 2013 due to step-down calendar ratio entering into force.
The site of the organization even calims that in autumn travels will be more economical than in summer.
