While taking a series of control measures, on the border of Transcarpathian region and controlled border districts, yesterday around midnight, border guards of the Mukachevo detachment together with police officers at the stationary post "Nyzhni Vorota" detained a car Daewoo driven by a 32-year-old citizen of Ukraine.
Besides the driver, there were three Sri Lankan citizens in the car. During the examination of the documents, the border guards found out that the Sri Lankans aged 36, 22 and 20 years had entered the territory of Ukraine illegally. The citizen of Ukraine, who was driving the foreigners, said that he had met them in Kyiv and agreed to drive them to the city of Mukachevo.
At present, the filtration measures with the detained citizens are being taken. After clarifying all the circumstances of the offense and the purpose of the illegal stay in Ukraine, the foreigners will be handed over to the Migration Service.
