The XI traveling international festival of documentary films on human rights Docudays UA kicks off in Uzhgorod next week!
The festival in our region will take place in two stages – 10-14 and 21-30 of November. While the first stage is focused mainly on students, the second one is aimed at Uzhgorod general public. It is no accident that it starts on November 21 with the film "Euromaidan. Rough Edit."
The organizers will present the almanac, that was created during three months of the Maidan, in the "ILKO" exhibition center on the anniversary of the Ukrainian Revolution of Dignity. During the festival, there will also be the opening of the photo exhibition of Kyiv documentary photographer Oleksandr Glyadelov, dedicated to the events on the Maidan.
"Travelling screenings have the main theme in common – "Ideorruption." This neologism by the team of the festival considers corruption as a phenomenon, so destructive to the society, that only massive public opposition is able to make radical changes in the country. We will talk about corruption as a total violation of human rights – the right of access to information, the right to a fair trial, freedom of speech and other freedoms. After each screening organizers traditionally invite the audience to discuss the films and issues of human rights in Ukraine with known human rights activists, cultural workers and artists, including photographer Oleksandr Glyadyelov, human rights activist Maxim Butkevych, artist Oleksa Man, and many others," – the organizers informed.
Admission to all screenings is free.
