Unlike the rest of the country, Transcarpathia does not have to prove its European aspirations: traditional family, historical, geographical relations have strongly united the Silver Land with the Old Continent.
But sometimes, the demonstration of the integration or, at least, the desire of it has truly absurd forms. Take the declarative board with either demand or desire of visa-free relations with the west located in the midst of weeds on the margins of the city.
It remains unclear: what caused the choice of such a humble location for the expression of European ambition – awareness of our own infirmity (given the unattractive landscape) or unwillingness to surprise foreigners (for the same reason, at least…).
Be that as it may, the owners and executorrs of this order should be reminded of the words of immortal, despite belonging to the now opposition culture, classic: "I love my country, but my love is strange…" Meaning: either remove the board, or clean up the territory around it.
