On October 25, the presentation of the program "Development of pre-schools in the Carpathian Basin" funded by the Government of Hungary took place in the village of Velyka Dobron in Uzhgorod district. Under the program, 6 kindergartens in the settlements of Transcarpathia, mainly Uzhgorod and Mukachevo districts, have already been renovated, the Mukachevo.net reported.
According to the authorized representative of the Government of Hungary, Istvan Hrezha, in general, the reconstruction of 80 pre-school educational institutions and the construction of 22 new ones is planned in Transcarpathia. The Government of Hungary has allocated 4.5 billion forints for it. The main goal is to increase the number of children attending kindergartens in the Hungarian-speaking regions from 54,000 to 64,000.
This year, he said, 34 kindergartens in different parts of Transcarpathia will be renovated. István Hrezha also promised that assistance from Hungary would reach even in the most remote mountain areas of the region. Hungarian-language kindergartens will receive furniture, toys, books, projectors and laptops with 55 gigabytes of fairy tales, and some will receive even football pitches.
Ildika Oros, the head of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Pedagogical Society, said that the priority would be given to the modernization of children’s kitchens. Vasyl Brenzovych, the chairman of the KMKS thanked the Hungarian government supporting the Hungarians of Transcarpathia.
