Hungary is offering Ukraine an ambassador who is related to Transcarpathia

This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin yesterday, October 13, in Uzhgorod.

Recall that Pavlo Klimkin came to Uzhgorod yesterday at the invitation of representatives of the Hungarian minority. The meeting, which touched upon the topical issues and the law on education, was closed.

At the same time, Klimkin said that soon Kyiv would give an agrement for the candidate for a new Hungarian ambassador to Ukraine. According to him, Hungary has already proposed a candidate, and he is related to Transcarpathia.

– It will be in the near future (agrement – ed.). Hungary proposed a representative of the diplomatic agency, who is related to Transcarpathia, and Peter Sijjarto (the head of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – ed.) even told me that he is already actively learning Ukrainian. That is, there are no problems with the appointment of the ambassador, – Klimkin said.

According to preliminary data, it should be one of the highest ranked Hungarian diplomats, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Istvan Ijgyarto.

Ijgyarto is in charge of cultural diplomacy in the Hungarian Foreign Ministry. He is a native of Transcarpathia, he was born in Beregovo in 1963. Back in the Soviet times, he moved to Budapest. In 2010-2014, he worked as the ambassador to Russia.
