Hungarians once again have found our contraband – cigarettes for 39 million forints – in a refrigerator with wood

The inspection of the truck, that arrived to the checkpoint "Záhony-Chop" from Ukraine, was initiated due to a justified suspicion: the driver, according to the declaration, was carrying firewood in a refrigerator. 

The vehicle was scanned using X-rays. Thus, they found a cavity near the engine covered with a built-in hydraulic press. There, they found 43,000 packs of cigarettes without excise stamps.

The cost of the seized tobacco products is estimated at around 39 million forints. The cigarettes and the vehicle were seized, criminal proceeding against the driver has been initiated.
