Hungarian poet in mini-format – for Transcarpathian students

Another addition to the miniature sculpture "army" in Uzhgorod from Mykhailo Kolodko.

On the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of the Department of Hungarian Philology at the Uzhgorod National University and the 10th anniversary of the Ukrainian-Hungarian Education and Research Institute in Uzhgorod, they decided to set up the figure of the famous Hungarian poet Janos Arany, – the Mukachevo.net reported.

Arany participated in the revolution of 1848-1849, edited the newspaper "Friend of the People". His best work is the poem "Toldi" (1847-1879). In the ballad "The Welsh Bards" (1857), he praises the courage of the patriots who fight against foreign invaders and monarchy.

The mini-sculpture of Mykhailo Kolodko is a gift from the Consulate General of Hungary. The official opening is scheduled for October 25, at 11.00 am, at Universytetska Embankment, 14, room 518.

As it is noted, the figure of Janos Arany will bring students good luck before exams.
