During two years 320,000 people received Hungarian citizenship under the simplified procedure. This was announced by the Deputy Prime Minister of Hungary Zsolt Shemyen, reported Novyny Zakarpattya.
According to the Hungarian representative, the most eager to receive the citizenship are Hungarians of Romania and Serbia. Overall, representatives of 65 countries are willing to become Hungarian citizens.
Despite the fact that now you can receive Hungarian citizenship under the simplified procedure, the country is reluctant to grant all applications. At least 1.5% applicants have been denied. As Mr. Shemyen reassures, they are those who do not speak Hungarian language, or those who present a threat to the public or national security.
