Hungarian citizens, members of the OCG were sentenced in Transcarpathia

The offenders, including a 41-year-old woman, were involved in the illegal importation into Ukraine from Hungary and sale of opium.

 

The court sentenced the organizer of the criminal gang, together with the members of the organized criminal group to more than two years in prison. Those persons, for the purpose of illicit enrichment, in 2011 were involved in the illegal acquisition of opium extraction weighing about 3 kg, and smuggling of the drugs from Hungary into the territory of Ukraine.

This organized criminal group was caught by officers of the Transcarpathian Office for Combating Organized Crime. 

The drug venture was organized and led by a 30-year-old citizen of the Republic of Hungary. Together with other members of the organized crime group, Hungarian citizens, he illegally imported the drugs into Ukraine and was selling them in Transcarpathian region.

The total value of the seized narcotics is about 120,000 UAH.

The organizer and most active member of the criminal group was sentenced by a court of Transcarpathian region to 2 years 8 months in prison with confiscation of property. Another member of the OCG – a 41-year-old woman was sentenced to 1 year and 9 months’ imprisonment with confiscation of property.
