Hungarian carols and authentic folk songs will be performed in Philharmonic

On December 18, the chamber instrumental ensemble "Hungarian melodies" invites to "KIS KARÁCSONY – NAGY KARÁCSONY".

The ensemble will perform famous Hungarian carols and authentic folk songs, traditional Christmas melodies and dances, excerpts from operettas and musicals. One of the most popular themes during these holidays is "Ave Maria" (prayer to the Virgin Mary). Many musical pieces have been composed for this prayer.

The concert will feature three versions of it – by Schubert, Piazzolla and Peter. Fans of the ensemble will be pleasantly surprised by its new members. In particular, virtuoso accordionist Yevhen Tsanko, charismatic singer, former lead singer of the popular Transcarpathian band Rock-H István Khalus, young clarinetist William Varga and new dance pair of Adriana Torbych and István Kekercseny.

And most importantly, the director of the "Hungarian melodies" since recently has been a high-class and experienced musician, laureate of international competitions, known cellist Diana Havata.
