On September 8, the band "SZALONNA" (Hungary) will present the program "Folk music of Transcarpathia" in the hall of the Transcarpathian Philharmonic.
The band is headed by Istvan Pal – descended from a renowned family of musician, a native of Vynogradiv district, and now – the artistic director of the Hungarian State Folk Ensemble.
Uzhgorod will be the final stop in the Transcarpathian tour, which included Tyachiv, Rakhiv, Volovets, Mukachevo and Mizhhirya districts. The main objective of the project is to present a rich and colorful folklore of Transcarpathia, as well as fruits of creative collaboration on both sides of the border: along with the group "SZALONNA", "Tyachivski muzyky" and the group "Shimon" (the village of Solotvyno, Tyachiv district) take part in the concerts.
So, August 8, at 19.00, fans of Transcarpathian folk lore will have a chance to admire Rusyn kolomyikas, Hungarian and Romanian folk songs and dances, Hutsul tunes.
Honorary guest of the concert is Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Lajos Pal. The project is supported by the Hungarian government with the assistance of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
