Yesterday, border guards of Ukraine and Hungary, during joint activities for combating crimes at the state border, conducted a special operation to find and detain illegal immigrants. According to the information received by Ukrainian border guards, the perpetrators planned to smuggle across the border several groups of people, which was reported to law enforcement officers of the neighboring country.
After learning about the possible direction of movement of illegal immigrants, 300 meters from the border, they found two people who were moving towards Hungary. The violators were elderly people and said that they came from Afghanistan. During the conversation, border guards learned that the woman and the man had been taken to the woodland near the border by a car, where all the money, mobile phones and documents were taken away from them. Then, people unfamiliar to the citizens of Afghanistan took them into the depths of the forest. At the request of the Afghans to give them something to eat or drink, they started shouting and beating them, and then ordered to wait in the woods. Without waiting for the people, who had left them in the woods, the Afghans decided to move on. Border guards gave them first aid, fed them and give them warm clothes. To provide medical assistance to the woman, who was sick, they also called an ambulance. Once she got better, the travelers were taken to the temporary detention center.
Meanwhile, Hungarian border guards, thanks to the information provided by border guards of the Mukachevo Detachment, detained near the border a Bangladeshi and Sri Lankans, who also tried to get to Hungary.
After identification, reports on administrative offenses under Art. 204-1 of the CAO will be drawn up against the detainees.
