Huge queues of trucks waiting to cross the border with Slovakia are observed on the bypass road in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

This situation occurs in Transcarpathia quite regularly. Earlier, the formation of queues was attributed to the fact that the carriers’ Polish transit permits had expired, and because of that a large number of trucks were going through Slovakia, where such permits are not required. Now the queue reaches the gas stations on the exit from Uzhgorod to Mukachevo. From the intersection of the bypass road and Timiryazev street to the turn to the landfill, we counted about three hundred trucks. Common problems arise – traffic on the highway becomes significantly more danger, roadsides are littered, the environment suffers. Recall that earlier similar situations led to serious conflicts, blocking of the roads by truck drivers, and intervention of law enforcement and high-ranking officials. No solution to this persistent problem has been found so far.
