On May 8, Ukraine celebrates the Day of Remembrance and Reconciliation. On that day, exhibition "Triumph of a human. Ukrainians, who survived Nazi concentration camps" will take place in the atrium of the regional state administration. The display prepared by the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory tells about stories of 30 persons behind the wires of 11 death camps of the Third Reich.
And May 9 – on the Day of Victory over Nazism – the victims of World War II will be commemorated in Uzhgorod.
At 10.00, representatives of the authorities, veterans’ organizations, military units, law enforcement bodies will put flowers at the foot of the monument "Ukraine – to Liberators", which is on the Ukrainian-Slovak border.
At 10.20, they will lay flowers at the monument "To Transcarpathian volunteers – participants of the Second World War", on Cyril and Methodius Square in Uzhgorod.
At 10.40, on the Hill of Glory memorial complex, they will lay flowers to the graves of soldiers, who were killed in the ATO, and to the Eternal Flame.
On the same day, at 11.30, a concert of the Ukrainian Republic Capella NOW Credo will begin in the atrium of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.
By the way, the performance of the Capella in Uzhgorod is symbolic, since the first performance during the tour of the Ukrainian Republican Capella in May 1919 took place in Uzhgorod.
Solemn events will also take place in all districts of Transcarpathia.
