How Uzhgorod woke up Ukraine on holiday (PHOTO, VIDEO)

In Uzhgorod, at dawn, the choir prayed for Ukraine.

In the heart of the capital of Transcarpathia – on the pedestrian bridge – an original concert on the occasion of the Independence Day was held.

Transcarpathian Folk Choir performed the program "Prayer for Ukraine". The concert was preceded by an ecumenical service conducted by several priests representing different faiths. By the way, the event started with the prayer "Our Father" ​​simultaneously in different languages – those which are the most common in Transcarpathia.

And after that, the choir sang "gems" from its repertoire. Of course, there was also a moment of silence, and the morning congratulation finished with the performance of the national anthem.

Singing at dawn on the Independence Day has become a tradition in Uzhgorod – last year Transcarpathian Folk Choir also woke up Ukraine on the banks of the Uzh staging a sort of a requiem for those who have fallen for the independence of the state.
