How to calculate custom duties

The Ministry of incomes inform: taxation of goods crossing the customs border of Ukraine is based on the invoice value of the goods indicated in cash and product checks, labels that contain information about the value of such goods.

In addition to the invoice value of the goods, the cost of insurance and freight at the time of crossing the customs border of Ukraine is taken into account. This only applies to those goods which are transported in unaccompanied baggage or cargo dispatch.

If there is evidence of the unreliability of the declared invoice value of the goods, the customs authorities shall determine it on their own on the basis of prices for identical or similar goods in accordance with the Customs Code.

Also the Ministry of charges remind that the invoice value is the value of goods indicated in the invoice. The invoice value is required for the formation of the customs value of the goods when calculating customs duties for imports.
