Today at the Transcarpathian Regional Council, at the regular plenary meeting, in addition to working issues, they changed the Chairman of the Council. Deputies supported the resignation of Ivan Baloha (who won the election, and will work in the Parliament of Ukraine) according to his letter, and elected the new chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Council Volodymyr Chubirko. In total, 86 deputies took part in the voting for the Chairman of the Council: 1 voted "against", 2 "abstained", 83 voted "for".
The now former chairman of the council Ivan Baloha thanked everyone for their cooperation and promised all deputies to work in the Parliament in the interests of Transcarpathia. In turn, Volodymyr Chubirko said that he would develop the best achievments in this post, and aspire to achieve decentralization as soon as possible. Answering that questions about his future deputies, he said that he would decide on this matter very soon.
By the way, Vasyl Brenzovych today also resigned as the first deputy chairman of the regional council, as he will also be the people’s deputy of Ukraine (in the list of Petro Poroshenko Block)
Then, the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Vasyl Hubal thanked the former chairman Ivan Baloha for his work in the interests of the Transcarpathian community.
Vasyl Hubal addressed Volodymyr Chubirko, congratulated him as the chairman of the regional council, confessing that he even envied his activity as a deputy. "I am sure that Volodymyr Chubirko will be able to negotiate with all political forces represented in the regional council and unite the efforts of all deputies to work for the community, for the development of Transcarpathia" – the press office of the RSA quoted Vasyl Hubal.
