Noise, singing, dancing, colorful costumes and of course, horses and bonfire in the center of the city – this is how the International Day of the Roma was celebrated in Uzhgorod.
According to Svitlana Adam, one of the organizers of the event and the head of the Society of Transcarpathian Roma "Roma", although with difficulties, but they still managed to get almost all Roma communities of the region involved in the holiday. Roma from Velyky Berezny to Vynogradiv came to Uzhgorod.
Several hundreds Roma marched dancing and singing through the streets of the city, launched from the pedestrian bridge into the river the wreaths symbolizing the plight of the people – eternal wanderer without historical homeland, and continued the celebration with a concert in the Regional Music and Drama Theater building.
