How Greek Catholics consecrated willow in Uzhgorod (PHOTOS)

The Palm Sunday is one of the biggest and favorite holidays. A joyful crowd gathered at the Cathedral of the Greek-Catholic diocese, where the faithful had willow twigs consecrated. The ceremony was conducted by the Bishop Milan, who said – it was not easy to find willows this year: due to warm weather and early spring, it has already blossomed.

Actually, on this day, they consecrate everything green (by the way, priests wear green attire). In seven days, there will be one of the main Christian holidays, which this year will be celebrated on the same day by the faithful of both Eastern and Western Rite. Together they will be praying, among other things, for recovery and peace in Ukraine.
