On Sunday, August 30, in Transcarpathia, the folklore festival was held right on the bank of the famous mountain lake.
The festival "Trembitas call to the Synevyr" was revived after a five-year break. It was founded in 2001 by the then head of Regional State Administration Hennadiy Moskal.
The content has not changed – the festival is a mix of folk performances.
The highlight of the celebration was to be a Cossack horse theater, specially invited to perform at the Synevyr from Lugansk region. Unfortunately, few people saw a great show on a makeshift platform in the village of Synevyrska Polyana. And it was spectacular – beautiful horses, colorful costumes of the artists, riding tricks and show elements with swords, fire and large flags.
According to the artist Maxim Hetmansky, it is their first visit to Transcarpathia and they are amazed by the beauty of the mountain region. All artists are self-taught, and almost every artisit and horse has had numerous injuries, however, they love their work. Now the team is looking for a director to make a new program – they have only one performance in their repertoire.
After the performance of equestrian theater, the festival participants and audience members marched to the lake.
Then, officials headed by Hennadiy Moskal on the bank shore of the rather shallow Synevyr were put on a raft and transported to the stage. There, to the sound of trembitas, the concert featuring folk groups of several districts began.
The main characters of the festival are trembita players.
The instrument is made of a fir tree struck by lightning, it weighs five kilos, reaching a length of about three meters.
But Ivan Matsola from Kolochava plays a metal trembita. He says, though it is not traditional, but easy to use. Unfortunately, in Kolochava there are no more masters who preserve the ancient art.
More emotions are in photographs from the festival.
