"Transcarpathian Legion" is coming home from the front of the Russian-Ukrainian War to rest.
They are back! Tired, unshaven, with smoke and sadness in the eyes. With gray hair in the temples and echoes of gunshots in memory. They did their job and deserved rest as nobody else.
Two divisions of the celebrated 128th separate mountain infantry brigade arrived to Uzhgorod from the front line – tankmen and the medical company. Tomorrow, we expect other defenders, including the 15th Uzhgorod battalion.
Rotation. Rest.
Journalists, volunteers and relatives met the fighters right near the railway track in Domanyntsi. The soldiers are completely devoid of pathos. They pack their backpacks, line up. One of the fighters carries a cat named Alice on his shoulder. Another soldier walks a dog on the leash. Because they do not leave friends behind.
