In Uzhgorod children’s music school № 1 named after P.I. Tchaikovsky there was the jubilee concert of the national folk orchestra of school teachers on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of its establishment.
The concert host – music historian Nataliya Pitsur – told about the history of the establishment and creative development of the band, reminded about the first managers – Mykhailo Keretsman, Boris Zatin. From 1985 to the present day the orchestra has been managed by Yosyp Zahensky.
During its 50-year history, the band helped to popularize folk instruments and collective music not only in the venues of the city and the region, but also outside the country.
The concert was graced with performances of the soloists – Volodymyr Korolenko, Kateryna Shelelyo and Andriy Hrekul.
For many years of fruitful work, contribution to the musical culture of the city, promotion of folk art and to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment, the orchestra was awarded with the diploma of the mayor, – the press-center of Uzhgorod City Council reported.
