Today, on the day of the main Jewish holiday – holiday of light and miracles – Chanukah, a menorah was solemnly lit in Uzhgorod.
Representatives of the Jewish community gathered near the monument of architecture – a synagogue in the Neo-Mauritanian style, where the Transcarpathian Regional Philharmonic is currently accommodated. The head of the Transcarpathian Regional Administration Hennadiy Moskal and Uzhgorod Mayor Bohdan Andriyiv came to congratulate them.
Hennadiy Moskal sincerely wished them all health, success, and most importantly – peace. "It is extremely pleasant that we are celebrating Chanukah at this place for the second time.
Accept sincere congratulations from all Uzhgorod citizens, we hope this will become a good tradition for our city," – Bohdan Andriyiv said.
After lighting of candles, the guests enjoyed the fire show and the traditional specialties, – the press service of the Uzhgorod City Council informs.
