June 20 is the World Refugee Day. In Mukachevo this date wasn’t celebrated by the refugee-hosting unit, therefore, the benefactors of the project "Ukraine – my second homeland" – Uzhgorod Press Club and the Danish Refugee Council – organized a real party with gifts, clowns and fun entertainment for the children.
According to Deputy Chief of the unit Rasola Peter, in Mukachevo, 56 refugees from Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Iran, Egypt etc. are waiting for their case to be heard. 29 of them are the children, including five teenagers who found themselves in Ukraine without their parents. Two kids go to kindergarten in Mukachevo, 15 attend school. Most of them want to go to Europe, but among the refugees there are almost local stars, for example, a young Iranian football player Murteza Valizade, who is very successful in a football club, "Meteor" of Pistryalovo village and even got the second name among the participants – Denis.
As for the holiday, the kids were entertained by the members of the theater-studio "Chiga-Biga" from Nyzhnye Selyshche and by the clown eccentric gang "Figlish-M." Together with children of different ages, they played in the yard, conducted master classes in origami, danced, blew soap bubbles, painted walls and so on.
