For over a year now, they have been not only restoring the historical street pavement, but also repairing it, since cobblestone is more resistent to load and its repair is cheaper, the Mukachevo.net reported (photos by M.Udut).
These days, in Irshava, they are stripping asphalt from Gagarin Street. Restoration of the historic pavement and uncovering the cobblestone from under asphalt began a year ago, and this has significantly improved the condition of the roads in the city.
The cobblestone was laid on the streets of Irshava in the middle of the last century.
