Helicopter fragments and the body of the pilot were found near Yaremcha

Helicopter wreckage and the body of the pilot, who has been searched for since Monday, have been found in Ivano-Frankivsk region.

On August 29, near the village of Yablunytsya in Yaremcha district, Ivano-Frankivsk region, rescuers found the wreckage of a helicopter and a man’s body, the press service of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine informs.

They said that at the time of finding the site of the accident, the model of the aircraft’s and the identity of the deceased man were unknown. According to the preliminary data, it could be the body of a 53-year-old resident of Lviv, whom the rescuers of Ivano-Frankivsk and Transcarpathian regions have been looking for since Monday. The disappearence of the man was reported on August 28 by his wife. According to the woman, the last time she talked with him was in the evening of August 24.

At the same time, in the report as of the morning of Wednesday, on the site State Emergencies Service, it is stated that "near the village of Polyanytsia in Yaremcha district, at 14.40 on August 29, a broken private helicopter (Robinson R22 Beta) and the pilot’s body were found in the forest area. An investigation is being carried out by law enforcement authorities".
