He played Chopin. Young Mukachevo citizen Pavlo Zaretskyi became the finalist of the prestigious competition

The International Chopin Competition for Pianists, which was attended by 96 participants from different countries: USA, China, Japan, North and South Korea, Russia, Australia, Italy, Serbia, France, Mongolia, Germany, Iran, Poland, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Latvia, Ireland, Sweden and Brazil was held in Budapest, on June 25.

The only representative from Ukraine – Pavlo Zaretskyi – is our dweller. He is a pupil of 6th grade of Mukachevo DSHM number 1 (Class of Carina Honcharova). The young talent became the finalist and winner of Chopin Competition, who was awarded by a diploma for successful performance.

Pavlo Zaretskyi performed waltzes and mazurkas by Chopin, ‘Moon Light’ by Debussy, works of Lysenko, Boyko and Kolesy. He played very distinctly, with soul, feeling the music that completely correspond the motto of the competition: ‘Many artists are playing well, but only units with the soul.’

The jury consisted of 11 well-known concert pianist professors of leading music academies and conservatories, which were the winners of international competitions, the representatives of France, USA, Poland, Germany, Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

The sponsors of the contest were the Embassy of Poland, the Polish Institute, Budapest salon of exclusive grand pianos, and partners – Frederic Chopin Institute in Warsaw, Chopin Centre in Shapharn (Poland), University of Music Franz Liszt (Budapest, Hungary), Academy of Music (Brno, Czech Republic) High school music (Bratislava, Slovakia), concert Association De Ville d’Avray (Paris, France) and other music companies.

The master classes and concerts of well known pianists from Russia, USA and Hungary were held in competition. For example, the pianist and member of the jury from Poland Christiana Tkachevskyi, who lectures in the United States and is the winner of 25 international competitions, fascinated the audience listened to two hours and did not want to release the scene. He brilliantly performed Rachmaninoff’s second Sonata, four mazurkas of Chopin, Chopin Andante Spianato and Grande Polonaise Brillante, ‘Pictures at an Exhibition’ of Mussorgsky and other works.

So, let us wish our debutant of international competition, but now the Winner Pavlo Zaretskyi become a real musician, whose art will bring joy to people.
