The fact of stealing a horse was properly registered, the police took a number of measures to identify the thief, but he and the stolen horse were nowhere to be found …

And only now, in the village of V.Luchky, Mukachevo investigators found the thief. It was a 44-year-old previously convicted for committing burglaries local resident who confessed to the police that he had stolen the mare and sold the meat for 300 dollars which he spent on spirits and food.

Investigators of the City Police Department opened criminal proceedings on the grounds of crime under Part 3 of Art. 185 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine ("theft"). The horse thief faces a sentence in the form of imprisonment for a term of three to six years. The pre-trial investigation continues.
