The tragedy of William Shakespeare "Hamlet" staged by the Transcarpathian Regional Ukrainian Music and Drama Theater takes us from medieval Denmark to modern Ukraine. Hamlet, the young patriot of Ukraine, returns from the ATO because of the death of his oligarch father. Seeing the corruption that erodes the country, he fights it with the means, which he was used on the war – with weapons. Also, the play shows the army of invaders led by Fortinbras-Putin, who wants to conquer new territory. At the end, when all the elite dies, Fortinbras, the Conqueror seizes power.
This performance is a warning for Ukrainian society, that we should unite, and not fight each other, otherwise the occupant will win.
