Half of Ukrainian children are convinced that parents are unaware of their problems

Half of Ukrainian children do not want to share their problems with parents and less talk to them. This is confirmed in the survey which was held by the Ukrainian Institute of Social Studies named after O. Yaremenko, informs DT.

50% of respondents claimed that they do not speak a lot with their parents, besides, it happens even less frequently during weekends rather than on weekdays.

20% of parents are convinced that they do not know how their children spend their spare time, and more than 30% do not know the truth about their children’s assessments. More than 50% of children are convinced that their parents are unaware of their problems. 15% of children believe that nobody cares of their opinion, instead 90% of respondents trust their parents.

30% of children do not want to live like their parents, including the wealth material, however 75% are ready to inherit the spiritual examples of their parents.

The survey was conducted on the request of authorized President of Ukraine by the Ukrainian Institute of Social Studies named after O. Yaremenko with the technical support of CF ‘Rozvytok Ukrainy’ (‘Development of Ukraine’) and the Children’s Fund of UN (UNICEF).
