Half marathon in honor of Feketa will be held in Transcarpathia

Half marathon in honor of Fedir Feketa – the legendary Transcarpathian postman – will be held in Transcarpathia. On May 29, the participants will overcome 21.5 km, the track will run between Uzhgorod and Perechyn.

The event is timed to the 120th anniversary of the modern Olympic Games and the anniversary of the first half-marathon (that took place in Transcarpathia in 1856).

As one of the organizers of the competition Mykhailo Barnyk told at the press conference in the Uzhgorod Press Club, the participants will start in Uzhgorod from ​​Zhupanatska Square, and finish in Perechyn on Narodna Square.

The event will be held on the Day of Perechyn, the organizers are Perechyn City Council, the regional division of the NOC and sports federations of Transcarpathia. 

About 30 athletes have registered to participate. The event will be international, there will be athletes from Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.

The competition will start at 17.00, on Zhupanatska Square in Uzhgorod.
