Hail the size of a walnut fell yesterday in Transcarpathia.
Hail was raging for a few minutes in the village of Nyzhnye Solotvyno. It destroyed vegetables, broke branches.
Menawhile in Uzhgorod, lightning hit two men. Fortunately, they are alive. Also, lightning hit a gas station, injuring a refueling operator and a car washer – the ICTV reported.
Residents of the village of Verkhni Vorota were less lucky. Lightning hit a 68-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl working in the garden. The grandmother died on the spot. The girl was hospitalized to Volovets district hospital in serious condition.
Transcarpathian forecasters warn that there will be thunderstorms, heavy rain showers and hail in the afternoon and evening. They declared a storm warning. In mountainous areas, in areas of heavy rains, on small streams and in upper rivers, there may be rapid increase in water levels by one meter. There is a chance of mudflow formation.
