The Parliament decided on holidays of the national scale. Ukraine began preparation for the celebrations to mark the various special events. The Parliament began to consider and take appropriate resolutions at the meeting on Tuesday, September 17.
For example, the 120th anniversary of the birth of Oleksandr Dovzhenko, which is scheduled for September 10 next year, in Ukraine will be celebrated at the state level. This resolution was supported by 312 MPs.
In addition, the status of state level holiday was assigned to the 100th anniversary of the poet Platon Voronko (December 1, 2013) and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Mykhailo Kotsyubinsky (September 17, 2014).
Significant events are scheduled for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the National Academic Ukrainian Drama Theater. The celebration is scheduled for October 2017. MPs also supported the resolution on the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Nikopol in Dnipropetrovsk region and the city of Ordzhonikidze in Dnipropetrovsk region from the Nazis to be held in February 2014.
Also they adopted the resolution on celebration of the 950th anniversary of the city of Beregovo in Transcarpathian region.
