“Green Corridor” did not save a Ukrainian – his “Volkswagen” stayed at the customs office (PHOTOS)

Once again, Transcarpathian customs officers prevented an attempt to smuggle tobacco products hidden in vehicles. 
This time, at the checkpoint "Uzhgorod".
Moving to the Czech Republic by a car "Volkswagen Sharan", a Ukrainian chose for customs control the "green corridor" 
lane and verbally declared not carrying any goods and objects hidden from customs control or those that are banned for 
export from Ukraine.
However, taking into account all possible risks, the checkpoint personnel sent the vehicle to the box for in-depth 
inspection, during which they found in a specially manufactured caches in structural cavities of the car luggage 
compartment 421 packs of cigarettes "Pryluky" with excise stamps of Ukraine hidden from customs control.
Access to the hidden tobacco products became possible after dismantling the protective metal plate around the 
perimeter of the bottom of the car.
Thus, the Ukrainian committed actions aimed at moving goods across the customs border of Ukraine concealed from 
customs control, i.e. using specially made caches and other means or methods that hinder identification of such goods.
These actions have signs of violation of the customs regulations specified in paragraph 1 of Article 483 of the Customs 
Code of Ukraine. Based on Article 511 of the Customs Code of Ukraine, the report was drawn up, the objects of the 
offense – tobacco products worth more than 3700 UAH and the vehicle “Volkswagen Sharan” worth over 121,400 UAH – 
were seized.
