Get ready to make “Olivier”! What and how much at the main market of Uzhgorod? (Photo report)

Uzhgorod.in offers a traditional overview of prices at the main market of the city – the so-called "green market" on Koryatovich square.

So how much are vegetables in the middle of December?

Our traditional vegetable – carrots – jumped in price: up to 15 hryvnia.

Ordinary cabbage – from 12 to 15 hryvnia per kilo.

A kilo of good apples is also 12 hryvnia or more.

The cheapest is the "second bread" – potatoes – seven hryvnia or more.

The price of off-season, but well preservable pumpkin varies. A kilo of the orange vegetable can be purchased for 8 to 15 UAH.

Beans, which are useful for soups, and later – for Christmas dishes, and also necessary for those who fast are 20 UAH per half a liter.

Tomatoes are no less than 35, cucumbers are even more expensive – 45 hryvnia. Jokes that one day they would be more expensive than bananas have become true: they are – almost twice.

Garlic is 70 UAH per kilo. Ginger is even more expensive – 75 UAH. And the most expensive product in our "basket" is walnut – 100 hryvnia per kilo.

We are rounding out the list of current prices with the symbol of the approaching holidays: fragrant, sweet tangerines in Uzhgorod cost 28-30 UAH per kilogram.
