From now on, Transcarpathian drivers will be able to choose license plates when registering a car

The relevant decision was supported by members of the Cabinet of Ministers during the government meeting on October 9.

The draft law aims to streamline the procedure for assigning and manufacturing license plates for cars in Ukraine.

From now on, license plates can be manufactured by business entities, ie legal entities, state, municipal and other enterprises. In addition, drivers will be able to choose their license plates.

"The transfer of the function of making license plates for vehicles subject to state registration and license plates for one-time trips will save budget funds and lead to the development of small business," – the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

The only requirement is that license plates must comply with established standards. The Ministry of Internal Affairs stressed that the proposed changes will help reduce budget expenditures.
