On April 1, the exhibition "World of Easter eggs" opened in the Transcarpathian Regional Museum of Folk Architecture and Life.
The exhibition features over one hundred Easter eggs made in a variety of genres and techniques: from traditional folk – to modern original products.
A significant collection for the exhibition was provided by art historian Roman Pylyp – those are traditional Transcarpathian Easter eggs, reconstructed according to the models of Easter attributes of 20-30’s, in particular, described in the album of Serhiy Makovsky "Folk Art of Subcarpathian Rus" (Prague, 1925).
A valuable collection of Hutsul Easter eggs, traditional for Transcarpathian, Chernivtsi and Ivano-Frankivsk region was presented by an Uzhgorod resident Victor Myhovych, an original collection of authentic Easter eggs was provided by a master from Khust Theresa Yakob.
In total, 30 Transcarpathian artists took part in the exhibition. One of them is the famous Uzhgorod chocolatier Valentin Shtefanyo. For his Easter egg, the pastry used 27 kilograms of chocolate, 2 days of work and a lot of inspiration, but the result was worth it: the Easter eggs, enveloped in the aroma of chocolate and French charm took a worthy place in the exhibition.
The exhibition will run for one month.
