A free economic zone in western Ukraine may be launched in Transcarpathia. This was announced by the head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Oleksiy Petrov.
"There is a high probability that the free economic zone (FEZ), which the government plans to create in western Ukraine, will be in Transcarpathia. The head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak noted this recently, and if we take into account that among the western regions we promote this idea as a basis for the development of the region, then it was about Transcarpathia,” – the head of the region said at the forum Re:Open Zakarpattia
He reminded that in the 2000s, out of 6 free economic zones operating in Ukraine, Transcarpathia showed the best economic results.
Recall that the head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak told about plans to create a free economic zone not only in Donbass, but also in the west of Ukraine. The project should contribute to the unification of the country.
