Former head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration Serhiy Ustich has passed away

Oleksandr Bilak reported about the death of the well-known Ukrainian diplomat, politician and statesman on Facebook.

According to Oleksandr Bilak, Serhiy Ustich has passed away today, February 7, after several surgical operations and long-term treatment.

Serhiy Ustich is a native of Irshava district, the village of Zahattya

From 1990 to 1994 – he worked at the government bodies, first deputy head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

In 1994-1996 – Chairman of the Council of the Carpathian Euroregion.

From 1994 to 03.09.1996 – Member of the Parliament of Ukraine of the 2nd convocation. Elected by Irshava constituency N 171 in Transcarpathia.

From 10.07.1995 to 05.05.1999 – Head of the Transcarpathian Regional State Administration.

From 1998 to 1999, he held the position of Permanent Representative to the Governors and Mayors of Ukraine in the Congress of Regional and Local Authorities of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.

From 02.08.1999 to 27.05.2004 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Czech Republic

From 27.05.2004 to 21.06. 2005 – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Slovakia.

After completing his diplomatic mission, Serhiy Ustich returned to his home university. He is the first and only Doctor of Sociology in Transcarpathia, Professor, Head of the Department of International Studies and Public Communication of UzhNU, the Mukachevo.net reported.
