Recently, more foreigners, when entering the territory of Ukraine, have been trying to smuggle weapons. For self-defense? Does our state have so bad image in the West that they are afraid to come here unarmed?
Thus, yesterday, March 31, at the international checkpoint "Uzhgorod" an air rifle was seized from a citizen of the Republic of Moldova.
The man, who was heading from Slovakia to Ukraine by car "Hyundai", chose to cross the border by the simplified border crossing lane, the so-called "green corridor". During oral questioning the driver of the car denied the presence of any items and materials prohibited for transportation across the border in the vehicle. However, the border guards had another opinion, so it was decided to conduct an in-depth inspection with representatives of the customs office.
During the inspection, the border guards and customs officers found a 5.5 mm "TYTAN AIR RIFLE", made in Germany, which was in the luggage compartment of the vehicle. The driver did not have an appropriate document confirming the legality of its possession and the right to transport it across the border.
The found rifle, which the citizen of Moldova declared his property, was seized according to the established procedure.
