Yesterday, in the highlands of Transcarpathian region, the temperature incresed, the thaw began, Transcarpathian forecasters warn. In the western and central parts, there were rains up to 7mm, in the eastern part, the amount of precipitation reached 21 mm – snow turned into sleet.
As of 19 January, in the highlands of the eastern part of the region, a very uneven snow cover remains, inflations and cornices are observed. During the day, further thaw, sleet, rain is expected in the highlands.
January 19, in the highlands of the eastern part of the region, on steep lee slopes, there may be small avalanches under additional load (II degree of avalanche hazard according to the international scale).
