For the past 24hrs, the Transcarpathian police have solved three property crimes and found a suspect in a criminal proceeding

Four suspects, including one juvenile, in two thefts and a robbery, were caught yesterday by the police officers of Uzhgorod, Beregovo and Svalyava. Criminal proceedings were opened over all of the offenses.

Yesterday, officers of Uzhgorod criminal police identified a man involved in the robbery of a local resident. The applicant stated that a young boy had snatched mobile phone and fled. Using the description, the police began the search for the suspect in the crime. Law enforcers found out that the robbery had been committed by a 17-year-old resident of Uzhgorod. The evidence was seized, after examination, the phone will be returned to the owner.

On the same day, Uzhgorod operatives found a 38-year-old resident of Korytnyany, a suspect in a criminal proceeding, who was hiding from court and the police. The policemen took wanted man to the Uzhgorod City and District Court for further consideration of the cases.

Officers of Beregovo criminal police department conducted operational search activities and detained persons involved in the theft of a telephone cable. The suspects, 21 and 31 years of age, cut off about 50 m of telephone cable from a pillar on T. Migay street in Beregovo. Later, they sold it. The police, opened a criminal case over the theft pursuant to Article 185 (2) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Law enforcement officers are checking the men for possible involvement in committing other crimes.

Police officers of Svalyava district also solved a property crime. Law enforcers arrested a suspect in the theft of a cell phone from a local resident. The thief was a previously convicted 26-year-old resident of the village of Rodnikovo. The phone was seized and after the necessary examinations will be returned to the owner. The investigation into the theft is ongoing. The choice of a pretrial restraint against the suspect is being decided.
