For now, quarantine in Uzhgorod is not going to be announced – City Council

One of the central TV channels informed that the situation with acute respiratory disease incedence in Transcarpathia is the best throughout Ukraine. The same issue was discussed by the anti-epidemic commission, which met today in Uzhgorod city council.

According to the weekly monitoring, in Uzhgorod during December 2016, there has been an increasing trend in the incidence of influenza and ARVI among both children and adults. As noted, during the 49th week of 2016 (from 1 to 8 of December, 2016), 911 official appeals for medical help about ARVI were recorded in the city, which is 33.8% more compared to the last week of November. The incidence of ARVI and influenza is 791.1 per 100 thousand people, which is 14.7% less than the level of the epidemic threshold (907.3 per 100 thousand people). Of the total number of patients, 653 are children under 17 (71.7% of the total). No cases of seasonal "A" influenza in Uzhgorod have been registered (as of December 9, 2016).

Given the current epidemiological situation in Uzhgorod and to prevent further spread of the epidemic process in the city, on Monday, December 12, enhanced sanitary and anti-epidemic measures were introduced at schools and kindergartens. Also, daily monitoring of attendance at school and kindergarten is conducted.

On Monday, December 19, the anti-epidemic commission will meet again to discuss the situation with the new data.
