For bribes and extortions: in Perechyn district, policemen are charged with criminal activities

The petition for removal of seven policemen from office was upheld by the Uzhgorod City and District Court.

According to the press service of the Transcarpathian Prosecutor’s Office, another law enforcement officer, who resigned and is hiding from the investigation, was declared wanted.

Earlier, law enforcement officers found out that suspects from Perechyn district police department, during 2017-2018, were regularly demanding and receiving bribes from drivers for avoiding administrative liability for violations of traffic rules.

Also, one of the policemen is additionally charged under Part 1 of Art. 366 CCU (forgery).

At present, criminal proceedings are opened under Part 3 of Art. 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The investigation is ongoing.
